Anti-Spam Policy
SineBoot has a zero-tolerance policy toward spam. This policy explains what we consider spam, the rules for any email you send using our services, and what happens if they are broken. It supplements our Acceptable Use Policy.
Last updated:
1. What we consider spam
“Spam” means unsolicited bulk or commercial messages sent to recipients who have not given you clear consent to contact them. This includes email, and also SMS, instant messaging or comment/forum posting sent in bulk without consent. Sending spam through — or in connection with — any SineBoot service is prohibited.
2. Consent is required
- You may only email people who have opted in to hear from you.
- Purchased, rented, harvested or scraped lists are forbidden, even if the provider claims the addresses are opt-in.
- You must be able to prove consent (for example, the time, source and method of opt-in) on request.
3. Rules for every message you send
- Use accurate, non-deceptive from, reply-to and subject lines.
- Include a clear, working unsubscribe mechanism and honour opt-outs promptly.
- Include a valid physical postal address for the sender.
- Identify the message as an advertisement where required by law.
4. Prohibited technical practices
- Forging or falsifying headers, envelope information or originating addresses.
- Operating open mail relays or open proxies.
- Using another provider’s service to advertise a site or mailbox hosted with us (“spamvertising”).
- Address harvesting, dictionary attacks or automated account creation for sending.
5. Consequences of sending spam
Violations may result in immediate rate-limiting, suspension or termination of the affected service or your account, without refund, and may be reported to relevant authorities and anti-abuse organisations. Repeated or egregious abuse will lead to permanent termination. These measures are in addition to the remedies in our Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Service.
6. Your responsibility for third parties
You are responsible for the sending practices of anyone who uses your services or sends on your behalf, including third-party mailing platforms and your own end users. We recommend using a reputable email-sending provider with authentication (SPF, DKIM and DMARC) configured.
7. Reporting abuse
If you have received spam originating from a SineBoot service, please report it to us with full message headers using the contact details below, and we will investigate. We take every report seriously.
